This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am the teacher of some very bright dual language 3rd grade students! They strive to work hard every day in both English and Spanish instruction and come from very diverse cultural backgrounds. I feel lucky to be able to teach and watch them grow into such great independent young learners.
As their teacher, I can only take them as far as I can go with what we have available.
They need to be supported with more opportunities to be independent, curious, creative, and productive learners in our classroom.
My Project
My classroom is not yet at the level technologically to meet my students' needs as learners. This project will help to close that gap and widen their minds. My students need access to technology that can accompany their learning in every subject in a meaningful way.
Behind the screens of these tablets is a world of possibilities.
You can help bring invaluable opportunities to enrich the learning of my students through the use of touch screen tablets. There are numerous educational applications for math, science, social studies, and reading. They can record their observations or voice notes for a project. They can develop their fine motor skills and use the tablets for quick reference. This project will also reach the English language learners and Spanish language learners in our dual language classroom. They will help students develop creatively, academically and to be prepared for whatever the future may bring. The new Fire tablets already have a space waiting for them in our classroom; you just have to help us get them in here! These four little tablets open up a world of possibilities that extend beyond the classroom.
