Tablets for Learners

Help me give my students access to newer technology and tablets that can connect with our SMARTboard and help my students learn new communication skills. The cases and warranty will protect our purchases for years to come!

My Students

My students come from all over South Philadelphia specifically for an Autism program. My school is located in a high needs/low income school district. These young learners have been given some more challenges than most at a young age but work hard to overcome them daily. These students come to school excited and ready to learn and grow. They are not a group to underestimate because they will rise above any expectation set for them, but sometimes they need a little extra help to get there. I am constantly amazed at how much my students teach me day in and day out.

My Project

In my classroom I have students who struggle to communicate but are trying their best everyday to learn new words and communication skills. In the program we use there are QR codes to show videos that demonstrate new words my students are learning. However currently we only have 3 tablets that will work with this program and they do not always work. Since they are old they work slow which slows down the pace of instruction and sometimes they do not hold a charge.

New tablets would improve instruction and allow more of my students to access this technology at once plus increase participation in group instruction.

Our old tablets do not connect well to our SMARTboard. The new tablets would allow multiple students to interact with the board activities at once instead of just one at a time.

The cases and warranty will protect our tablets for years to come!
