This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
These tablets would make a difference in my classroom by providing students with technology access during STEAM instruction. As a STEAM teacher, I plan to use these devices to give students access to resources such as SplashLearn, 99Math and other differentiated mathematical programs with the goal to succeed academically and improve test scores. I would also like to bring them access to fun lessons using teacher/student interactive platforms such PearDeck or Nearpop. These apps allows us to collect data and provide feedback to students at faster rates. I plan to teach my students computer science fundamentals or coding, and expression through graphic design.
My student are special and deserve these resources because they live in a low-income community.
Many of them live in NYC shelters as part of the new immigration waves. Regardless of the status, these children deserve an opportunity to learn. They are eager and happy to be here. It is our job to ensure their schools days are fun and well-equipped with technology. Today is all about them. They are our future.
