This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school serves a diverse group of students in the bustling Fruitvale neighborhood of Oakland. My students are showing amazing growth and working very hard to learn each day.
Many of my students are learning English as a second language and some have unique learning needs and Individualized Education Plans.
Each one brings their best to school each day and works with me and other school staff to meet their academic and social-emotional goals.
The teachers and staff here want our school to be a second home where students are motivated and excited to come and learn. Here's where you come in.
My Project
My students are at home and out of school due to the coronavirus. At this time the school closures may last several weeks or months. Many do not have the technology to continue studying at home.
With tablets at home, students can continue learning and participating in online school activities.
Closing the technology gap is more important now than ever before. Without it, students risk falling behind. With technology at home, I can continue to see student progress through programs like zearn, a-z education, imagine learning and google classroom as well as give them important feedback to continue their education.
