My Students

My students do not have the number of experiences that many children have. I believe, as a first grade teacher at a high-risk school, that all children deserve rich experiences.

Many children in my classroom are low income and have few experiences to explore outside of their small town.

Many students in my classroom do not have books at home and seldom are exposed to the use of the public library, the zoo, or museum. It is very important for my classroom to be a place where students can have a wealth of resources in order to be successful.

My Project

Students came to school for six days. After that, we were out of school for one month. A devastating flood took away many of our students' homes. Our school was a shelter for several weeks, and many families evacuated to find shelter. Lots of our supplies were lost in their homes, so we need to replenish. We need your help to keep our year running smoothly. I don't want parents to worry about supplies again after losing so much already.

Technology brings so much to a classroom.

If I were to have a charging stations, students could work in the classroom on projects, learning apps, and enjoy their learning in an interactive experience. Students are used to lots of television and technology in their homes.

Students need a set of LeapPad tablets for use in the classroom. I want them to be excited to come to school and look forward to it. The tablets would make learning more successful, and students would look forward to coming to school to use them. Charging stations, cords, and chargers would continue to make everything work correctly and stay organized.
