This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our 6th graders are ready to explore the exciting world of science—from building circuits to creating bubbling chemical reactions! But there's one thing holding us back: safe, sturdy surfaces for hands-on learning.

With your help, we can turn our classroom into a true mini-lab by adding durable table tops that make experiments easier, safer, and more engaging for every student scientist.

I teach a lively and curious group of 6th graders who are full of questions and eager to explore the world through hands-on discovery. They come from a range of backgrounds, and many face challenges outside the classroom — but inside, they come alive during science time. They love using their hands to test hypotheses, ask questions, and learn by doing.

Unfortunately, our current desks aren’t built for real lab work. They're wobbly, cramped, and prone to spills, which makes it hard for students to fully engage in the science experiences they crave. My goal is to create a classroom where every student can confidently experiment, explore, and collaborate — and we need your help to make it happen.
