My students are in grades 9 - 12 and function at a lower level due to their intellectual disabilities. Many of my students are in wheelchairs and motor scooters due to their disabilities and at times struggle when making art.
My students are in a 15:1:1 alternate assessment class in a Title I school where the students come from low-income households and can't afford to buy the adaptive art supplies they need to excel.
My students are always engaged and happy when making art and always want to make new projects! They love hands-on activities and want to be independent!
My Project
Painting can be very difficult when you have to balance your board on your lap and paint in your hand. It creates distractions and the inability to enjoy painting.
Tabletop easels will allow my students to focus on their artwork because the easels will hold their boards for them.
The tabletop easels will reduce anxiety and provide structure because the boards will always have a 'spot' during painting class. My students love to watch Bob Ross paint and always want to paint like him. They all see he does not paint with a board on his lap. Please help us out!
