Tablet Time!

My students need 1 Samsung Tablet and 1 tablet protector case to use as a visual learning tool during all content areas and to read and listen to E-books.

FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Warden's classroom raised $695

My Students

Over half of the students in my class are ESL students working diligently every day to learn English. We need an interactive, user-friendly visual aid that will help me to teach them new vocabulary and increase their understanding of new concepts.

I am a 3rd grade teacher in a high poverty school in the Northwest.

Over 85% of our students are from low-income households. There is also a wide range of diversity in our classroom, with 9 different native languages being spoken by all 25 of my students. Despite the challenges of their home lives, all of the students are kind, hard-working, and they have a tremendous desire to learn.

My Project

I am requesting one Samsung Tablet for my students and I to use on a daily basis for all content areas. Having this Tablet in the classroom would allow me to visually show my students new vocabulary words during guided reading groups. That way when one of my students asks me "What is a prairie?" I could instantly bring up a picture of it instead of trying to explain it verbally or trying to draw it myself. I could also use it during Social Studies or Science to introduce new concepts. For example when learning about penguins, I could bring up a picture of "webbed feet" and "flippers" to help students understand these new words. I could also show the students educational videos of penguins to help them better understand what they look like and how they live. I could also download E-books for individual students to listen, watch and read along with. With a learning tool such as this in our classroom, the possibilities for teaching and learning are endless.

By making a donation to this project, you will help give my 3rd graders and myself access to a wonderful teaching tool.

With this Tablet, my students will be able to grasp new vocabulary and new concepts much more quickly with the colorful pictures, stories and videos. Please help us to get this Tablet in our classroom to help my students become not only champs at learning English, but champs at learning everything!
