My students need a tablet to enhance their learning experience. They have difficulties learning from books and traditional teaching, due to their autism disability.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Countless studies have shown that students with autism are able to learn, communicate, and demonstrate what they have learned by using tablets. The interactiveness of a tablet allows them to do just this. Give these students the ability to learn by donating to this worthy project.
I currently teach a wide of range of students.
All of whom have some sort of disability ranging from autism, emotional disabilities and learning disabilities. My students with autism struggle the most in the classroom. All of my students come from low income/poverty areas of Brooklyn, NY. Our school district which is comprised of special education students only is always tight on money. We can not afford or are not given the funds to properly educate these students that desperately need the appropriate technology to educate them. Having this technology would really aid them in the learning process and keep them on track and on pace with the other students in the class.
My Project
My students are in high school. By getting these tablets, the students will be able to use various apps to enhance their learning. The Android App store has a wide range of educational topics that can be downloaded for free or for a small price. These apps are very hands-on and interactive. The interaction with the app and the tablet will allow the students with autism to learn and retain information that is presented through the tablet.
Please contribute to the education of students that deserve a great education.
Any donation amount to this project will be gladly appreciated. Thanks for your time, consideration, and donation.
