This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Technology is advancing everyday! Our new reading series in online and ready for my students to interact with. However, lack of computers has gotten in the way of the students transitioning to the use of the Internet and reading stories online.

My students try to interact with the Internet as much as they can.

They use the limited number of computers we have to access reading and math intervention programs. They try their best to succeed. They are determined to work hard and come to school early to use the available resources they don't have at home. Our school lacks numbers of computers which prohibit all of the students going on the computer at the same time during their small group instruction. We are a Title 1 school that does not have money to purchase tablets for students.

My Project

During small group instruction, the students would be able to be involved and engaged in the lesson with the use of a tablet. The devices will capture their attention and motivate them to read their best. My students would be able to participate in interactive read alouds and listen to stories while following along. They will be able to access a plethora of books with just one device. My students will learn how to infuse technology into our daily routine and become technology literate.

My project is so important because is will motivate my students learning English as a second language and students with learning disabilities to read with confidence.

The students can also take a virtual trip around the world with the use of the tablets; learning about the world around them with just one click.
