Tables Turned: Transforming Learning One Table at a Time

My Project

I teach in a 5th–6th grade resource classroom at a Title I school, where many of my students face unique challenges both inside and outside of the classroom. Each of my students has an Individualized Education Program (IEP) and receives specially designed instruction tailored to their specific learning needs.

Small-group instruction is essential for students with special needs, allowing for focused, personalized support in a setting where they can feel safe and successful.

Right now, our classroom lacks the basic furniture needed to make this possible. With proper tables, I can create flexible workspaces where students can collaborate, receive targeted instruction, and engage more comfortably in their learning.

These tables will support meaningful, differentiated instruction while also promoting social interaction, independence, and confidence. They’ll help me build an inclusive classroom environment that meets both academic and sensory needs.

By funding this project, you’ll help transform our space into a more functional, welcoming place where every student has the support—and the surface—they need to succeed.
