My Students
I teach in a preschool room in a low-income school district. My students are faced with challenges inside and outside of the classroom. Despite the many challenges that my students are facing, I strive to provide them with a fun, interactive, safe, and meaningful learning environment. As their teacher, I try to instill the importance of communicating/listening to one another, being a good citizen and leader, and using trauma-informed techniques to aid them in their social-emotional development.
My students have various learning styles' backgrounds and needs.
Due to being located in an inner-city, funding is extremely hard to come by, and in order to provide my students with the best learning experiences I can give them, I typically find ways to procure these items and experiences out of pocket or by any means I can, which is where DonorsChoose.org comes in.
My Project
As we continue this school year and variants are becoming more transmissible, being able to work and learn safely is a big priority. In order to try to keep everyone healthy, we need to continue to abide by social distancing and other health guidelines.
This project is for additional classroom tables for our classroom to ensure that everyone has table space for learning while maintaining social distance guidelines throughout our school day.
Extra tables will provide more options for students to sit together (safely!) for breakfast, lunch, snack, tablework time, and extra space during classroom center time.
