Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We just had our first annual multicultural night at our school. Staff and families volunteered to host tables representing their cultures. It was exciting and such a beautiful example of unity and respect for the diversity of our community. There was food, crafts, posters, exhibits, music, and dance. We had representation from 18 cultures, but we only had 9 tables, so it was a tight squeeze. We expect an even bigger turn out next year based on what parents and staff have shared. We have many afterschool events including literacy night, where extra tables are desperately needed.
