Tables and Chairs Make Us Better Working Pairs

My students need specialized chairs and tables to help with body support and easy access to group activities. The ball chairs are to help students build core strength and no disruptive fidgeting.

My Students

My students range from Kindergarten to 5th grade and have a wide range of physical and intellectual disabilities. They have many needs that include physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech. The majority of the class and school are from low income, high need areas. We are an inner city school with a decreasing budget so we at times have had to adapt classroom supplies to meet our students' needs. While my students struggle with everyday activities they are always trying to help and cheer each other on. My students work hard and try their hardest every day to exceed everyone's expectations but to continue in our success we need more functionally appropriate supplies.

My Project

With the help of donors, this project will help my students function better and feel more confident in their surroundings. It will provide the chairs that are far more functional for my students with physical needs as well as my students who perform stemming behaviors. The tables will provide an environment that helps include all students with space provided for assisstive devices. The bean bag chairs will provide needed support for students while sitting in the reading center.

Your help will provide not only functional supplies but also supplies that will help make learning less stressful and more fun while we show everyone how we beat the odds and exceed their expectations.
