My Students

In the short time, we've gotten to know each other, my class has quickly become a community always looking out for one another and cheering each other on.

I have the privilege of teaching and enriching 32 of the most hardworking​, passionate and sharp second graders.

They are filled with energy and a desire for learning every moment they are in school. Many of my students have come from different countries. 19 of my 32 students are also learning English as a new language. Overall, I have a very diverse group of students with different abilities, all sharing the same enthusiasm for learning.

My Project

The theme of our classroom is collaboration. We are always helping one another and working with each other. Students in this class are very generous and willing to help their peers.

However, without a table to properly sit and learn in groups, we are left working in tight spaces, on the floor, in the hallways or independently at our desks.

We are requesting a horseshoe table to allow for more small group instruction to meet the needs of students and also to promote teamwork. This will be very useful while doing guided reading, strategy groups and many more instructional approaches.
