I have just completed my first year as a teacher and so I have had a great experience. My students were eager to please and always participated in class discussions. As the year has come and gone, I have definitely figured out what works and what deos not work. I will continually monitior and adjust my classroom in the years to come.
The students at my school have diverse backgrounds and constantly learn things from one another while remaining respectful and accepting.
I have learned so much from them already and cannot wait to see where the rest of my career takes me. I know my future classes will continue to be respectful, responsible, and ready to learn.
I am always looking for new ways to inspire my students through seating options, instructional changes, and peer interaction. I hope to continue to learn from my years of experience and continue to find new and exciting ways of teaching to fuel my students passion for learning.
My Project
This project is to supply my class with new kidney tables, in lieu of traditional single student desks. I am asking for kidney tables as I feel they will enhance the classroom environment.
Students will be grouped at these tables based on different learning styles, learning goals, interest, and for small group instruction.
The use of these tables will promote collaboration among students, will allow for me as the teacher to pull up a chair and give small group instruction without creating a distracting environment during transition from one area of the room to another, and will allow students to easily move seats if needed when the current seating arrangement is just not working.
