My students need a group learning table for group lessons during math and reading activities.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Groves's classroom raised $491
This project is fully funded
I teach in a urban, high-need community to students with learning disabilities some who have mental retardation, autism, speech and language, vision and other health impairments such as ADHD. I share a resource room classroom setting with two (2) other special education teachers. We service approximately 40 to 45 students everyday.
Currently there is one group activity table available in my classroom that accommodates 4 to 5 students at at time. Often my small group lessons are halted or at times can not occur due to the lack of an additional group table. The availability of an additional group table will solve this problem all together. The additional group table will allow my students the opportunity to learn in a small group session uninterrupted which is conducive to their learning. Small group interaction especially where differentiated learning takes place is essential to the overall learning experience specifically to my students with learning challenges.
A group activity table will benefit my students to allow them to receive first-hand instruction to accommodate their learning disabilities and varied learning styles. A group activity table will allow face-to-face sessions for clear instruction to help facilitate student learning.
You will make it possible for my students to experience learning to their full potential and to excel through academic challenges. This group activity table will be used daily and year long. Other learning activities will take place utilizing this group activity table, such as math, arts and crafts, cooking lessons and writing activities that will enhance and add to my students overall learning experience.
