My Students
We are a preschool classroom, consisting of two half-day sessions of eighteen 4 and 5-year-olds. We serve low-income families by providing a high-quality, free preschool experience. Many of our students have other risk factors such as, a single parent, living in an unsafe area, and many more. The students are very hands-on and love learning through play. All of our students are getting ready to move into kindergarten. We want to introduce them to a fun-filled year that they will remember and share!
My Project
Preschool is most often my students' first time being in a school setting. They should be able to sit at a table and converse with their peers comfortably. The tables and chairs that we currently have in our classroom are not suitable for many of my learners as they range in variations of different heights.
Appropriate seating and tables are key to better success in learning and relationship building.
We utilize our tables for many activities throughout the day such as, eating, playing, and doing small group activities together. The table will be a wonderful addition to our classroom as we can change the height of it as our students grow throughout the year. We are also requesting three slightly larger chairs as our current chairs are too small for the adults to comfortably sit and get up from.
