T Squared-Combining Teamwork and Technology

My students need a Chromebook laptop and a 2-Year Accidental Protection Plan to build a community project on the upcoming science unit.

My Students

Teamwork is such an important part of growing as an individual. Technology is becoming such an important part of our world. I am hoping to join the two together to make a learning experience that the students will never forget!

I have 36 fifth graders in 2 different classes.

My students are from a rural county in South Carolina. 85% of my students are on a free or reduced priced lunch. My school only houses 5th and 6th graders. We have about 700 students total. Some of my students have never traveled beyond the county lines.

My Project

Students will work collaboratively on a unit project for our upcoming science unit. Each week, a new group will add to the presentation what we have discussed that week. By the end of the unit, students will have created a presentation that showcases all of their all hard work and new knowledge of Forces and Motion. Students will have the choice to pick how they want to present their information. Students will learn about the different ways to present information using technology. They will have a chance to become familiar working with a laptop and all of the tech savvy things that a laptop can offer. We will go over the presentation as a review before their Unit Test on Forces and Motion.

This donation will help improve many things for my classroom.

One, it will help my students become for technically savvy. Some many not have another opportunity to work with a laptop and the different presentation programs. Two, it will help with team building and allowing students to learn new things together. Three, it will allow for each student to know that they contributed to the class project.
