This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The first day of school is the first time many of my students have ever been in any sort of school setting. Many have never been exposed to books or games or even crayons. However, these "obstacles" do not stop me from challenging my students in the classroom or keep them from rising to the challenge while also being excited about learning.
It is my passion to instill in my students a love for learning from the time they walk in the door.
In my class, we play, learn, experiment, question, communicate, discuss, imagine...we grow!
We use flexible seating in our classroom. Allowing students to have the choice of where to sit has been very beneficial in my classroom. I have noticed my students tend to feel more invested in the classroom and seem to participate more when they feel they are given choices throughout the day. What better way to do than then giving them options for seating!
With the growing number of students in classrooms, more space is extremely important! Adding this table (and two more like it) will help me decrease the number of tables in our classroom by increasing the number of kids that can sit at a table. It will also allow for more floor space so kids can use the other types of flexible seating already present in our classroom.
