My Students
At Northeast Middle, we have RAM PRIDE! And in my history class, we look to the past to understand who we are. We study both U.S. and world history, attempting to interpret the past through student-led research. Students create the material that other students use to learn.
Northeast Guilford Middle is a Title 1 school, that mainly serves minority students.
We have a wide range of learners, from the exceptional children to the academically gifted. Our school was built in the 1960's and has a long tradition of hard work and community.
My Project
My students need an automated robotic camera system. My students will use the Swivl Robotic platform to record lessons that they themselves create, to teach the rest of the class about various topics from U.S. and world history. Student created lessons are exceptionally effective, and this platform will help them record and present those lessons. I will also record my lectures with the platform, and make those lessons available to students who are absent, homebound, or just need a refresher.
By having this robotic video recorder and presenter, students will be encouraged to create their own content, to take ownership of their own learning, and to boost confidence in their public speaking skills.
By recording my lectures, I can ensure that students who are not physically in my classroom will not miss out on the lessons. Any students who need extra help will be able to go back and review what they missed.
