My Students

Teaching young children has always been my passion. Their curiosity and sense of wonder about the world make my job fun! Our school district serves close to 8000 students while my individual classroom serves 30 students ages 3-5 years old with a wide range of abilities.

The classroom demographics consist of students considered to be "at-risk," students with identified disabilities, as well as students whose native language is something other than English.

Many of the students I work with and their families are living at or below the poverty line. I also have many students and families who are new to the United States and have very little.

My Project

During this time of uncertainty, many families are choosing to keep their children and my students at home. Although these students will not set foot into the classroom this school year, they still need access to quality education and instruction.

Swivl will allow for quality remote instruction to occur by authorizing teachers to record and/or live stream their lessons for students to view and engage in without having to set foot inside the classroom walls.

This is extremely important so that the burden of teaching is taken off of the family's shoulders and placed back on the shoulders of the teacher. This technology will also uphold students' accountability in their learning by actively engaging in lesson content.
