My Project
My students are fun, loving, hardworking, and technology lovers. They are 21st Century life-long learners. I love that they love learning and helping each other. They challenge me to become a better STEM teacher daily. They are simply. They love being exposed to new STEM challenges. I love that we learn together. They are simply amazing!
The goal for this project is to have my students incorporate STEM Habits of Mind concepts with mental health strategies while building community within the classroom as they practice how to collaborate, communicate, and celebrate each other.
The SWITCH will be used to show students in an engaging manner how to work in collaborative groups to build teamwork ethics and community in the classroom.
In addition to the Nintendo Switch System, I am asking for the game Overcooked, where students must play in teams while communicating and collaborating about what is needed in the kitchen in order to keep the restaurant and food from igniting.
Using 21st Century skills is important and essential. According to Google, "Teaching communication opens up opportunities for students. The more a student is able to communicate, the more successful social interactions they will be able to have, which in turn create more opportunities for learning and practicing communication skills."
