We are in a very special elementary school with an amazing administration and staff that are very supportive of our students. Each of our students has unique needs; this can pose a challenge for the teachers simply because each goal has to be planned, taught and reinforced in a different style for each of them.
My students are superheros who have overcome a lot, and they never let anything slow them down.
The word disabilities have been changed to ABILITIES - we never see what can't be done but what can be done. Spend a little time with my students and you will feel so much love and enthusiasm of learning.
My Project
As a child we all remember how much fun it was to swing and also how calm it made us. Well, for my students it is so beneficial.
Students will be using the fabric swing inside our classroom.
Swinging helps the students to feel calmer and chilled during times of high anxiety. Some reasons for anxiety could be change of routine, louder noises, or weather outside the classroom. The other swing will be used outside so that our students can swing right alongside their peers. Swinging aside peers brings a time of peer interaction and friendship building. Please help my students with a donation toward the purchase of these great swings.
