My Project

Project Description:

My students are bright, energetic children with significant cognitive disabilities.

Every day, they face challenges in communication, focus, and physical regulation—but they never stop trying, and they never stop smiling. To help them thrive, I’m requesting an indoor swing frame and swing to create a safe, sensory-friendly space within our classroom.

Many of my students experience sensory processing difficulties. For them, the simple motion of swinging provides powerful vestibular input that helps calm their bodies and minds, increase attention, and reduce anxiety. When they are able to self-regulate, they are more engaged in learning, better able to participate in group activities, and more confident in building relationships with their peers.

This swing will be a game-changer. It will offer not just a fun break during the day, but also a therapeutic tool that supports their learning and development in ways traditional classroom tools cannot.
