This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our fairly new elementary physical education program is ready to take the field, but we need your help to gear up! We’re excited to introduce our amazing students to the fundamentals of softball and baseball, and we’re looking to bring in the equipment that will make this unit both fun and successful.

With your support, we aim to purchase foam bats, foam baseballs and softballs, batting tees, a net for hitting and pitching, and Velcro toss-and-catch ball sets.

These items will allow our students to practice and develop key skills in a safe, fun, and supportive environment.

The foam bats and balls will give students the chance to learn proper hitting techniques without the fear of injury, while the batting tees will help them focus on hand-eye coordination and swing accuracy. The net for hitting and pitching will provide a target area for students to practice their aim and improve their pitching form, while also offering a safe space for practicing throws without the need for constant retrieval. Finally, the Velcro toss and catch ball sets will encourage teamwork and improve throwing, catching, and communication skills in a relaxed, interactive way.

By using this equipment, our students will not only gain fundamental sports skills, but they will also develop teamwork, coordination, and sportsmanship which are qualities that they can carry with them both on and off the field.
