My Project

Have you ever tried to do work on an empty stomach? It's not easy for us as adults, so you know it is even more difficult for children. I want to be able to provide my students with something to eat like Pop-Tarts if they are hungry because they didn't have a chance to grab breakfast before they left home or potato chips or cookies if they just need a mid-afternoon snack to tide them over until they return home after school. Rice Krispy Treats, Jolly Rancher lollipops, and other assorted candies will be earned as rewards for successfully passing Accelerated Reader tests as they reach the point goal for 5th grade set forth by the Academic Support Team.

It's easier to concentrate on school work if your stomach isn't growling because it's empty!

We've all experienced hunger pains and, as adults, we are lucky enough to be able to satisfy our hunger when we want with what we want. I would like to be able to provide my students with different options for snacks if and when they get hungry during the school day. I teach 42 of the sweetest students in my school and, with your financial assistance, I can treat them accordingly- with some SWEETS!
