This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My fantastic fifth graders are beyond eager to learn new information. Most of them come from a low socioeconomic background and receive free and/or reduced lunch prices. Many of them do not have the resources at home to keep up with the intensity of today's curriculum. The families of my students work so hard to keep their children excited and ready to come to school every day.

My students have a love for learning and I have made it my personal goal to make the process as fun and exciting for them as possible.

I work in an urban school district that houses many students that are English as a second language learners. These students are working to accomplish the extremely difficult task of learning an entirely new language in as little as a couple of years.

My students love receiving my positive feedback. They are such an energetic group of kids, so highlighting good behavior, excellent work ethic, and a love for learning is my personal favorite way to encourage my students to do their best. There is nothing better than to see my students have their own "lightbulb" moments when they overcome a challenge in my classroom.

My Project

As a second-year teacher in an urban school district, furniture, resources, and supplies are not so easy to obtain. I currently have very limited seating options in my classroom and these new flexible seating options will push my students to be more motivated and focused than ever!

All children are different and deserve to learn and grow in a way that suits them best.

Especially in today's educational world, students tend to have a difficult time staying focused throughout the day. I hope these new and exciting seating options help my students find that focus and motivation they need to succeed each and every day.

I cannot wait to see the excitement in my students' faces when they see this brand new furniture waiting for them ask they walk in the doors on the first day of school. I hope they will be as excited as I am already!
