This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are full of imagination and never let their learning obstacles get in their way of making progress and achieving their dreams. They come from low-income households and most do not have access to a device such as a tablet or a laptop.

Many of my students have to share a device with 2-3 siblings which make it impossible for them to do their assignments online.

My campus is currently using Seesaw as our learning platform. Fifteen out of 60 students have joined and submitted assignments since we began with this new venture due to the fact that they lack the online learning tools.

My Project

This has been a rough year due to this global pandemic. Many of my students struggle every day in life coming from a low socioeconomic background. Through all of their difficulties, they still found the love for reading and joined my zoom readings. It was very sad to end the year with no way of congratulating them on how hard they have worked this year. I would love to make them shirts as a memory of their 4th grade year and how they were very appreciated. Making them shirts will help give them the motivation to continue on their online learning. Please help support our project to create sweet memories.
