Sweet Incentives: Boosting Extrinsic Motivation With Candies and Snacks

My Project

This project will enhance student engagement and academic performance in our Math class. By using candies and snacks as immediate rewards, I aim to increase participation, effort, and consistency among students. These tangible incentives will serve as positive reinforcement, making the learning process more enjoyable and less stressful. My students, who come from diverse backgrounds and face various challenges, are naturally curious and eager to learn, but often need extra motivation to stay focused in Math. I use this motivation especially on the days we review before their test and the days we review before the State Exams. Through this project, I hope to create a positive classroom environment that supports their unique needs and encourages them to achieve their full potential. The goals of this initiative are to boost participation in Math activities, improve academic performance, and foster a supportive and motivating learning atmosphere. By providing these small but impactful rewards, I believe our students will be inspired to approach Math with greater enthusiasm and achieve better results.
