My Project

My students have been targeted to begin accelerated math instruction beginning in 4th grade and continuing on through 6th. The Legos will be used to construct geometric shapes which will then be used to measure area, perimeter, volume, and angles (with the protractors). Students will also use the various math manipulatives to broaden their understanding of base ten numbers.

This project will allow me to provide the materials to assist them understanding the concrete mathematical concepts so they are fully ready to tackle the abstract by 6th grade and beyond.
