My Project
The more we move forward in education with technology, it seems there is a decline in money needed to fund sustainable sources of technology. I have been a music teacher for over 20 years and have gone from having no computer, to having a Promethean smart board, to nothing but a computer and finally a projector. It is unfortunate that I cannot utilize the newer materials coming out for music teachers because I do not have an interactive board.
Students today are more likely to learn from engaged, interactive instruction, but in order to have this, appropriate technology is key.
I love to have my students interact in class, but the raising of hands is not as effective as it used to be. As of now, I am working with a projector, with a dying bulb that cannot be replaced and no funds for another device. Students want to get up, move and have more interactivity in their learning process. Having an interactive board in my room would help me accomplish this goal.
