My Students
Come into my classroom any school day and you will find some very busy little people exploring their world. In my preschool classroom, everyone is safe and everything is at their level. You observe busy little people getting to know their world better. They even have a fenced-in playground where they can climb, slide, run and imagine.
Outside of the school campus, it is a different story.
The neighborhood that surrounds the school is an impoverished one. The homes are very old and have not weathered well over the years. Many of them have burnt down and what is left is a shell of a house. Some of the blocks near our school have homes that have been preserved well. Many of these homes have fences that surround the home. It is hard-pressed to see children playing outside, even in the summer.
My Project
I am a virtual preschool teacher. I have been teaching online since March of 2020 when all schools closed. I have done my best to make supplies available to my students. I have used much of my own money to purchase items that my students need for a virtual classroom.
My preschool students are in need of printed materials and an easy storage spot for all their virtual learning supplies.
I have been using my own printer. Ink is very expensive and I print so many things that I share with my students. We also are in need of dry erase markers. The students have white boards that are used weekly. Many of them have stopped using the white boards because their dry erase markers have dried up. By your generous donations, my classroom will have the supplies it needs to continue thriving in a virtual world.
