Surfing our way into Chapter Books!

Help me give my students ECR4Kids The Surf Portable Lap Desk with Cushion and lots of great books!

My Project

Second grade is the big leap for most students to begin into the wonderful, and sometimes intimidating (when you are only seven or eight) world of chapter book reading!

My favorite thing about second graders is that moment when they realize that they love chapter books best, and come running over to tell me with exuberance and joy that I was right and chapter books are the most fun to read!

Our classroom was lucky enough to get some of these amazing surf desks, but we don't have enough for just a few of the students in our room and need these five more to make it so that everyone can have a space to learn on the carpet. My students love getting the opportunity to use the surf desks to read, write, learn math, science, and more! This flexible seating option is a wonderful asset to their learning environment, and this selection of chapter books will make it even better.

My students have been begging for the books on this list, and most have just entered the daunting world of chapter book reading. These books are a wonderful jump-start to enter this brave new world of learning. Please consider helping my students by giving them access to these much-requested books inside our classroom library, thank you!
