Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach three different classes of 5th graders Math. My students enter the clasroom eager to learn One way to make this classroom learning more effective, exciting and challenging is through the use of computers and eductional apps. My students want to learn as much as they can and technology often fills in the gaps.
My students come from homes where they are first generation American citizens and from homes where families sacrifice to provide them with all that they need to become successful in the United States.
Their families work hard to make ends meet and often do not have the funds needed to provide for technology at home. Many of my students rely on computers in the public libraries or in the omputer lab at school Unfortunatley, computer lab time is limited. My students want be part of this technologiccal world we live in, and they can be with a Surface.
My Project
Since we are living in a technological world, my students need access to the best materials. The Microsoft Surface Pro 4, will allow my studetns to write their work down from anywhere in the classroom and display it on the smartboard. They will be able to play games, and activites directly on the Microsoft Surface 4. The students will be able to interact with the many different apps and games that can reinfforce skills they may be weak in through mremediation programs, as well as challenge students . The Microsoft Surface Pro 4 also gives the opportunity for students to create projects utilizing photo and video images along with text in a multi-media display.
This daily access will enable them to be connected to the rest of the world and learn many new things.
In addition, they will be enhancing their computer capabilities which will result in sharing with their families.
