Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a special education teacher who loves to make sure my kids are always prepared for their day. My students love to learn and always try their best to stay focused during the day. As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, I see that my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom.

Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.

They like to move, they love to read and love lots of positive attention. Many of them are being raised in single-parent households whom are very hard working and spend their time assisting their students when not at work. These things may prevent them from getting ahead early in life and may not provide them with the life experiences many of us see as typical. From the minute they walk in the door of my classroom, I focus on their potential and strive to give them the best of me.

My Project

I have a few students who have been truly effected by COVID. They have been moved out of the homes they have known and moved to places away from their friends and the things they know.

My students are eager, energetic and adorable students.

Their families have been hit hard by the pandemic.

All of my students are currently learning remotely. I am hoping to send them a package filled with some toiletries, snacks, hats, gloves, socks and pjs. Included in the package are some tools that will help them with their learning such as a dry erase board, crayons, pre-sharpened pencils, books, letter tiles and notebooks.

No student should go without these necessities. I hope that you will help me bring this project to life. I know my students' families will be appreciative and enjoy the snacks, juice, toiletries and learning supplies.
