My Project

At Nova Academy Early College High School, many of our students face challenging personal circumstances that can weigh heavily on their mental health. For many of them, school is not just a place for academics, but a crucial safe space where they can build relationships and find emotional support. To help nurture these connections and promote their social-emotional well-being, we are requesting board games like Monopoly, Jenga, and other interactive activities. These games will provide our students with a fun, engaging way to bond with their peers, reduce stress, and strengthen vital communication and problem-solving skills. Further many of these items and games allow the many students who are English learners to engage without the barriers that they may face elsewhere. Charging ports allow students to charge their phones, giving them a security in knowing that their vital connection to the outside world will remain functional by the time school gets out. Finally, items like oil diffusers and coloring pages allow students who may prefer to not socialize the same safe and positive space for them.

Mental health is a critical issue for our students, many of whom come from difficult backgrounds that add layers of stress to their daily lives.

By providing them with board games, we can create opportunities for positive social interaction, helping to reduce anxiety and encourage emotional resilience. These moments of play will allow students to connect with their peers in a way that fosters understanding and empathy, both of which are crucial for their personal growth and mental health. With your support, we can offer our students not only the tools to succeed academically but also the emotional strength they need to thrive.
