My students need more books in my classroom library. I asked for their input and this list is what they gave me.

My Students

The students in my classroom are diverse in their cultures and life experiences, but one thing they all have in common is that they are in my classroom.

I do my very best to give my students exactly what they need to show growth from the beginning of their fifth grade year to the end of it.

When a student enters my classroom, I immediately treat them as if they are my own personal child. This ensures they get my best.

My Project

The books on this list come directly from what my fifth graders enjoy reading. They picked them! I asked for their input so that I could ensure that I am providing them with what 5th graders enjoy. I plan to have a basket of books at each of the seven tables in my classroom. Some of these books will be in each basket. I will rotate the books from table to table, and switch books out as well. This will give students one more choice for their reading material during class.

By asking for my students' input, I gave them some say in what they will have available to read.

This ownership is important to kids.
