Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our students are typically asked to sit in a chair for six hours a day. It is challenging for some of our students with variable attention to focus on a single task for an extended period. I want to provide sensory relief for our students who struggle with ADD/ADHD. Items such as therapy putty, "turn and twist" and magnetic tiles will help students with variable attention.
Teachers who promote student mental health and well-being can improve classroom behavior, school engagement, and peer relationships.
My students are also navigating social relationships with their peers and adults and are learning how to regulate their emotions. Items such as sketch art, motivational bracelets, and conversation cubes will allow my students to name their emotions and express themselves creatively. Your donations will also help students who struggle with identifying their emotional reactions and choosing an appropriate response.
