My Project
My current group of learners had no choice but to go through the school closures due to the COVID-19 pandemic back when they were first graders. As the result, many foundational literacy skills were acquired inconsistently by many, to say the least.
With this project, I am hoping to help my students to improve their decoding, fluency and reading comprehension, as well as expose them to various literacy genres, such as fiction and nonfiction.
In order to help my students to continue building their reading skills I created the follow-up projects in which the books for the next reading levels are gathered together.
