This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

At BES, our 1st graders come from a richly diverse community, but many face challenges in accessing the supportive learning environments they need to reach their full potential. Reading is a critical skill at this age—a key to unlocking future academic success. That’s why we are creating a classroom library filled with books that cater to all reading levels, from beginner to advanced, ensuring every student can grow at their own pace.

But we don’t just want to provide books—we want to create a dynamic, comfortable space that inspires a love for reading.

Flexible seating is essential for encouraging students to settle in, stay focused, and truly enjoy their reading experience. By transforming our classroom into a space where students feel safe, engaged, and excited to learn, we can empower them to strengthen their literacy skills.

This library will do more than just provide books—it will foster confidence, imagination, and a passion for learning that will last a lifetime. We need your support to make this vision a reality. With your help, we can create a welcoming and enriching environment that encourages every child to flourish.
