Supporting Newcomer Students to Our Country

Help me give my students activities that support their SEL needs in a new school setting.

My Project

I work with a diverse population of students. Many of our new students coming to our school are new to the country, with limited or no English. I want to provide a space for them to meet and build relationships with one another.

They may speak different languages, but they are experiencing similar things in terms of being in a new place and not understanding the language.

I have found many of my kids have never even built a LEGO and they have been loving the experience, and many asked for more difficult sets. I love being able to provide them a safe area to collaborate and support each other.
