My Students

My students are enthusiastic English Language Learners. My students speak Mandarin, Cantonese, Spanish, Arabic, Hindi, Vietnamese, and more! They all come from very diverse backgrounds bringing their unique cultures and languages to our school.

I started my educational journey years ago and now its time for me to give back to my school.

That's right! I attended this school during my childhood years and I am more than happy to be back to serve my community. I want to give the children the opportunity that I had- the chance to learn and grow with the support of caring, helpful, and engaging teachers.

My students come from different economic backgrounds. Nearly all students come from low-income households. Parents work very long hours to support their children with basic needs and it is my job to support my students' academic needs.

My Project

All the supplies will greatly support my students in their educational journeys. I will be able to create engaging, colorful posters and charts with the thermal laminator to act as aids for my students. The flip chart markers and putty stick pack will be used to create the anchor charts as well. The photo library and magnetic letters will be great hands-on aids for my students to use when learning how to read and how to build their phonemic awareness. These supplies will surely make reading fun and effectively support English Language Learners!

Data has shown that students struggle with writing and I want to change that!

The magnetic write and wipe mini boards and reusable white and wipe pockets are great aids for my students to use to learn how to write. They will be able to practice how to form their letters, how to trace and how to sketch out pictures to match their writing.
