My Project
I will be moving into our high school 12:1:1 classroom. I want to make the classroom feel welcoming to all my students. I want to include a ton of project-based learning ideas to the classroom for the students to learn skills that will help them be successful citizens.
My students need high levels of support due to their moderate to severe disabilities.
They need a structured and consistent classroom where many successes are allowed to happen. The instruction that will happen within this classroom is specifically based on the students needs.
The need for the items in the cart are to create a safe space for students to go if they are under stress or need a break, otherwise known as the "Calming/Cozy Corner". This will be a place where students can get a snack, sit on the rug, play with a fidget and just relax until they are ready to come back to complete their work. The adhesive dots are to decorate that corner to make it feel more comfortable with signs.
