This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My class has a total of 25 kindergarten bilingual students. All of them are scholars who are passionate about learning and enjoy hands-on activities. Many of them do not have the resources they need to experience and explore learning in a variety of contexts...so having a variety of resources at school does not only enrich their learning but their life experiences as well.

My students are thrilled about the different things that we'll be learning about during this school year, and what a better way to fulfill this excitement than giving them a variety of resources to express themselves and a classroom environment that will allow them to collaborate with each other.

During the school year, we'll be doing research on a variety of science topics to work and improve our nonfiction literacy skills.

My Project

My students love to be engaged during their independent work time with hands-on activities. My students will use the sand letters and the movable alphabet to reinforce our whole class phonics instruction. The math manipulatives will allow them not only to refine their fine motor skills but also allow them to include some movement throughout the day.

These manipulatives will support the students to engage in meaningful and interactive independent work that will enrich their learning through sensorial experiences.

The more the students use their five senses, the more likely they are to remember what they are learning!
