Help me support literacy in my music classroom by contributing tools needed to complete and practice productions of my students' original scripts. Each grade level, K-5, is studying a different genre of story, writing original scripts in that genre, composing music and soundscapes, and then practicing them for performance. Having a wireless sound system in my classroom will give the students a chance to learn and practice microphone etiquette, as well as save my voice as I teach my loud and lively classes.
Learning to read music helps support literacy!
In addition to creating a more welcoming and fun learning environment with this colorful rug, it serves practical purposes for learning to read music, as well. Brain research has shown that language and music are produced in the same part of the brain and that learning to read music teaches skills that are important to both acquiring language and reading. For "the littles" a rug like this facilitates all kinds of singing games and group dances.
