This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a seasoned kindergarten teacher in a Title I school, I welcome many newcomer and English language learner (ELL) students into my classroom each year. These young learners face unique challenges as they adjust to a new language, culture, and school environment. To create a supportive and welcoming space for them, we need essential materials that bridge gaps in our classroom resources.

My students are bright, eager learners from diverse backgrounds, many of whom are navigating a new language and school system for the first time.

They thrive with hands-on materials, engaging visuals, and tools that help them feel confident and capable. These resources will support their journey toward English proficiency and academic success.

This project focuses on obtaining essential materials to fill gaps in our classroom and support language development for my newcomer students.

This kinetic sand, Play-Doh, watercolor sets, and other materials will make a significant difference in ensuring that every student has what they need to succeed.

With these resources, my ELL and newcomer students will have access to the tools that foster understanding and confidence. Visual and tactile materials are especially crucial for helping students bridge language barriers and participate fully in classroom activities. By creating an inclusive, resource-rich environment, we can help every child thrive.
