My Project
For many, the transition to starting school is an experience that often comes with big changes, challenges, and modifications to previous routines for both children and their parents and families. We would like to offer this dual education book for children and parents about self-regulation and appropriate, empathetic expectations, as a resource to be handed out at our welcome day before Kindergarten begins.
We hope that it will help with these transition times and support students and their families with these big emotions that come with the transition to Kindergarten.
This book can act as a “mirror” for some families who may relate to and identify with Timmy’s struggle to tie his shoes. For other families, it may be a “window” that can help develop understanding and empathy for individuals who struggle with executive functioning skills.
