My Project
Thank you for taking my project into consideration. The purpose of my request for exercise equipment is to promote and instill in our youth the need and desire to be healthy and physically fit.
We have a fluctuating population of approximately 15 students, all on IEPs for behavioral concerns that prevent them from attending a traditional setting on a middle/high school campus.
More than 50% percent of our students at any given time are in foster care.
My request for a treadmill, yoga balls, and soft sports balls will serve many purposes. In addition to the equipment we already have in our gym, these items will supplement our physical education program. Students will continue to boost their cardio and stamina using the treadmill, work on strengthening their core with the yoga balls and work on hand-eye-foot coordination and agility with the sports balls.
Another item requested is T shirts and fabric paint. Our students need to feel like they are part of a community and by creating shirts designed only for PE, I believe they will take pride and ownership in their learning as they connect with other classmates.
