My Project
As a school counselor, I have many important items in my toolbox, however, none are more important than having emergency grief kits available when needed. Emergency grief kits are drawstring bags with everything I need to help a student with the loss of a loved one.
It is crucial in my role as counselor, to ensure that I am ready and available in a crisis situation.
When these events occur there is no time to prepare. The items in the grief kit not only provide immediate calming and comfort but also provide items for students who may not have eaten due to a sudden tragedy in their home or may not be able to go home at all.
